Event details

The South Centre and the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva have the honour to invite the G-77+China in Geneva and the South Centre’s network of tax officials to a one-day virtual capacity building program on the Dispute Prevention and Resolution Framework in Pillar One of the OECD Inclusive Framework’s solution for the taxation of the digitalized economy.

The Pillar One rules institute an entirely new multilateral framework for resolving disputes between countries relating to the collection of taxes under the OECD’s solution, formally known as “Amount A” of Pillar One. Such an approach is being initiated for the first time in the history of international taxation. It is vital that developing countries familiarise themselves with it as much as possible so they can minimize potential revenue losses arising from Amount A related disputes. It will also help developing countries better understand the Pillar One framework and can inform their decision of whether to join it or not.
