South Centre Tax Initiative Peer Exchange on Digital Taxation, SC Peer Exchange activity, 27 April 2019, New York

On the 27th April 2019, on the sidelines of the Eighteenth Session of the UN Tax Committee in New York, the South Centre organized a peer exchange activity on tax challenges arising from digitalization. Participants discussed the consequences arising from the OECD-led work on digital taxation and the opportunities and options developing countries could develop to face such consequences. Similarly, participants had the opportunity to identify challenges and opportunities confronting developing countries arising out of the digitalization of the economy, including on the allocation of taxing rights in the digital economy and the need to strengthen the role that the UN Tax Committee in addressing the interests of developing countries on this discussion.
